Ground Sumac

Sumac is a classic Anatolian and Middle Eastern finishing spice. Sumac is made from all-natural whole fresh, bright sumac berries.

Our delicious Sumac grows wild around Kahramanmaraş, Turkey. Sumac seeds are collected from the trees when they are sufficiently red and ripe. It is %100 naturally sun-dried, then the dried kernels are thoroughly pounded. It is sieved repeatedly. It is washed with water, filtered and ground with salt. In this state, it turns into the sumac spice we know.
